It’s Easy to Discard Toxic, Electonic Waste
The Indianapolis Department of Public Works conducts ToxDrops from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. the second Saturday of each month at the Perry Township Government Center, 4925 Shelby St. In addition, the refuse can be dropped off at 1725 S. West St. from 9-11 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. Suitable materials include antifreeze, paint, brake fluid, batteries, drain and toilet bowl cleaners, fluorescent light bulbs, adhe- sives, pesticides, pool chemicals, thermometers and used motor oil. Other locations and a complete list of acceptable waste are available at indy.gov/toxdrop. The illegal dumping of any debris is punishable by fines up to $2,500, warns DPW.
